Charles "Charlie" Dickens

Charlie and his three siblings - Jannie, Bootz, and Ace - were an unexpected surprise. Rosy, their mother, patiently awaited rescue or adoption at Devore Animal Shelter in late July 2023. After being passed over time and again, by early August, her time was running out. The Kitty Devore Rescue team knew we couldn't let anything bad happen to her, so we swooped in just in the nick of time and rescued her to safety. Understandably, her time in the shelter left her terrified, and even though she was safe in a wonderful foster home, she needed time to settle in and gain a sense of trust in her doting guardians. On her first visit to the vet for a routine exam, we learned we didn't just save one beautiful kitty. Rosy had little Rosebuds on the way! Charles "Charlie" Dickens and his siblings were born in their warm, loving foster home on September 6, 2023. Much like his namesake, he grew into a very creative little guy. Whether a piece of string or a sock, Charlie will fashion a toy from anything on which he can lay his clever little paws. Once he gets the pep in his step, there's no stopping him, although he'll stop in his tracks for an absorbing, captivating episode of Cat TV. Otherwise, Charlie bursts with energy, eager to run, play, and tumble through the day with his exuberant siblings. He would thrive best in a home with other kitties or where his adopters make ample time to interact with him throughout the day.
