Meet Dokie! Dokie is the brown tabby.
HISTORY: Three male kittens came into Red Waggin' Rescue after being found on the side of the road in eastern Washington with neurological issues. After their first vet visit the vet diagnosed them with cerebellar hypoplasia.
Cerebellar hypoplasia is a developmental condition in which the cerebellum of the brain fails to develop properly. The cerebellum is the portion of the brain that controls fine motor skills, balance, and coordination. The condition is not painful or contagious.
FOSTER UPDATE: Dokie is a snuggle bug, loves attention and being around his humans. He is still learning to walk and will occasionally with flop over, but he has actually progressed in actual leaps and bounds.
Dokie is very personable with everyone. He currently volunteers with some senior citizens centers by sitting in laps. He is able to use a regular adult cat litter box with no problems or accidents. Because he is a long haired cat, he requires regular grooming but he adores sitting in your lap while he gets brushed. If he’s being pet, brushed or held he will emit the loudest purr you’ve ever heard. Like a motorboat or a car revving.
RWR requires that all their cats remain indoor-only.
