My Story

DOB: 7/5/15 At first glance, Earl Grey might look a bit like a grumpy grandpa type - but that's not true at all! He's actually a big-hearted guy with only a mildly gruff exterior and, at barely middle-aged, his best years are yet to come. When Earl Grey's foster mom met him, he was eating trash out of a dumpster, living in a parking lot near downtown. His foster mom's intention was to trap-neuter-release him because she assumed he was unsocialized...but when she went to put food in his trap, he lunged toward her....so that he could rub his cheek all over her hand. At that moment, his fate was sealed - he was way too friendly for outdoor living. In fact, Earl Grey absolutely LOVES affection. He will never be able to get enough of it! If his foster mom sits down on the couch, he immediately jumps up next to her, snuggling against her, purring up a storm and rubbing all over her. He's a little bit rough looking (he has scars on his ears that tell the story of many rough years on the streets) and can be initially nervous about new situations (he is sometimes known to hiss the first time he meets someone new, but he doesn't mean it at all) but this guy is all gooey love on the inside. He lives with other cats now and mostly gets along with them - he just doesn't do well with other big alpha males and is easily annoyed by young zoomie kittens - but he would also be fine as a solo cat. This big guy (not kidding - he's physically a very large guy) just wants a human he can shower with love and gratitude all day, every day.
