Ebony

Ebony is a young, black beauty with a fun nickname of Ebby. She is about 2.5 years old (born approximately 11/16/21) and she is four foot declawed. Ebby will appreciate a home where she has room to roam and a warm lap to sit on for a well deserved cat nap after a play session or most any time. Her foster mom realized that she must not have been played with very much before but recently she has started to really enjoy playing and some favorites are string toys on poles, catnip mice, and pushing a ball in one of those circle toys. Ebby has a fun little trill especially in the morning when it’s time to eat or when she is asking someone to come give her attention. She loves to knead on her favorite pet bed that will go with her to her new home. In her foster home, she doesn’t sleep with her foster mom but it seems very likely that she would in a new home if her family lets her. It seems like Ebby had a rough start in her previous life and may not have been treated well because she is a little suspicious sometimes of people’s intentions. She was first found last fall after someone dropped her off at a barn which is awful enough on its own merit but because she was previously four foot declawed and with no means to defend herself, it made the situation even worse for this poor girl. Fortunately, the barn owner knew the barn wasn’t a safe place for her and she has been an inside only cat since shortly after she was discovered there. Ebby will likely do best in a home with no other cats and no young children. We don’t know how she would be with dogs. Ideally her new family will be an experienced cat owner who will understand that it may take a little bit to gain her trust. On occasion, she may get overstimulated and may nip or attempt to bite so it will be important to watch her cues for when she has had enough petting or if she is stressed out. Currently she is receiving some medication that helps with anxiety in her canned food and some will be sent with her. It’s possible that she may not need that in a new home after an initial adjustment period but it’s hard to tell.
