My Story

Supplies included: wet food, cat bed, fleece blanket Cocoa Location Text Rebecca 321-431-7225 Foxy Alma Brown showed up outside a home covered with scabies, her eyes crusted shut. She also had a broken tail. A concerned citizen got her to the shelter for help immediately. She has since healed (her tail is still broken but does not bother her), and looks amazing! She is about 2 years old, spayed, up to date on shots, microchipped and FIV/FELV negative. We believe she was part of a TNR program in which she was found outside, spayed and released back outside to live. However, we don't feel that she always was an outside kitty. It seems she once had a family that loved her and gave her lots of attention, but she somehow lost that family and ended up alone and outdoors. Foxy is a very sweet kitty who loves to be pet. She purrs really loudly and makes biscuits while getting attention. She loves to get her head and chin scratched and will rub against her foster mom for attention. She is very loving. She makes cute little meows for attention. She really looks to have some exotic breed in her, based on her face shape and coat. However, we don't know that for sure. She's a special kitty, though, beautiful and sweet! Unfortunately, it seems as if her life outdoors was rough and she had some human interactions that maybe weren't so kind (could be the way her tail got broken=-( We recently found out that when her tail got broken (prior to us rescuing her), she also had damage to her hip and knee. The vet feels that she was most likely hit by a car and sustained injuries to her tail, knee and hip. Her tail has healed crooked, but poses no problem. She does walk with a limp now due to the injury to her knee and hip. She needs to take daily inflammation meds (very inexpensive). She may need a leg amputation down the road, but the vet feels it can be managed with pain meds for now. Should she need a leg amputation down the road, the rescue will cover this surgery. Due to her traumatic past, Foxy flinches around any quick movements and loud sounds. She will sometimes make a little hiss when first approached as she is initially nervous. She is working on building her trust with humans and will need a patient adopter who understands she is still working on her trust. She is cautious in new situations, but is genuinely curious about her surroundings. LIKES/DISLIKES/OTHER ANIMALS/CHILDREN: Foxy loves to be pet and get scratches on her head. She purrs when she is pet and makes biscuits when she gets attention. She is a little tense when being held, but it seems as though she would enjoy it once she gets more comfortable with it. She is very playful, but is just learning how to play now! She loves her little mouse that she carries around. She also likes to cuddle up on her little fleece blanket. She loves eating, and is very food motivated. Foxy LOVES other cats. She meows the minute she sees another kitty and wants to interact with them right away. She has never shown any aggression or signs of nervousness around other kitties. She has not been around dogs, but would do ok with one that is cat friendly and calm. Due to the fact that she is startled by sudden sounds/movements, a home with small children would not be the best setting for her. Foxy does not like sudden/quick movements and sounds. She is startled easily by fast motions. She will need extra time to adjust in her new home. ***Please remember; our cats have a low thirst drive and NEED the moisture in the wet food. Since wet food is 75% moisture and dry food only 10%, that is huge for our felines. Cats need wet food daily to avoid a lot of dehydration related medical problems long term like urinary tract issues which can lead to litter box avoidance and kidney disease or obesity issues linked to diabetes.. VETTING: Foxy Alma Brown is spayed, microchipped, has her rabies and FVRCP shot, and is FIV/FELV negative. She has 30 day flea treatment on and has been dewormed. **How our process works and Application is here: FurryNationSalvation.org/adoptionprocess (copy and paste into your browser) **Find us on TikTok, Facebook, and Instagram!** -If you want to adopt : 1) please show up with cat carrier. 2) We give you copies of all forms. 3) we take photo of you and newly adopted pet. 4) we go over pet education packet as we do with anyone who adopts from us so you have a successful adoption. 5) The adoption fee is $20.
