My Story

Oh, Fozzie! Fozzie came to us in 2022 as a kitten with his littermates and mom when we were alerted to a notorious baby-makin' mama who oops! did it again. Fozzie has been in foster with us for a long time... and we aren't sure why! Fozzie is the type of cat that most adopters ask about - once he warms up he is friendly, outgoing, playful, easy to handle, purry, good with other cats, good with kids... you name it! We think he could likely even get along with cat-friendly doggos, with proper introductions (although he has not yet met a dog here at TCR). Fozzie currently spends his days chilling in one of our foster rooms, lounging on the cat trees, playing hide and seek in a large cardboard box, and wresting with his foster kitty pals. He's usually one of the first kitties to come out to greet his foster mom when she enters the room, and he loves being petted and receiving attention. He especially also loves Churu treats. He can be a touch shy at first when he's encountering something new, but he usually gets over this pretty quickly - especially if he has some other outgoing cat friends around! We think that he will be a really amazing companion in his forever home! Fozzie is just over 1.5 years old. He has been neutered, dewormed, flea treated, microchipped, vaccinated, and has tested FIV/FeLV-. He has always been healthy while in our care, but he did have two littermates who were diagnosed with FIP (feline infectious peritonitis) back in 2022. FIP can have a genetic component, which may make Fozzie more likely to be susceptible to the disease. We would encourage any adopters interested in Fozzie to be overly cautious and educate themselves on the signs and symptoms of the disease, and we are happy to discuss this further with anyone interested in adopting him.
