My Story

Hello, my furiends! 23 weeks old, these kitten siblings are a little bit spicey and a whole lot sweet - Habanero and Bell - welcome to the Scruffy Paws family! Habanero (male, tuxedo kitten) and Bell (female, white tabby) reside in one of Scruffy's best foster homes and are waiting to meet you! Their foster mama tells us these two are the most lovable kittens who crave attention. Give them some scratches, and you won't have to wait long for the purrs and cuddles to begin! When not cuddling, Habanero and Bell can be found in their favorite window, watching the birds and chirping away at their feathered friends. They can be shy upon first meet and greet, but give them time to settle in and get comfy. What do Habanero and Bell find irresistible? Squeeze-ups and feather teaser toys! They will often enjoy a friendly kitten battle over their Squeeze-up treats and feather toys - keep on hand, and you will have lap cats in no time! We are unsure how Habanero and Bell would be in a home with small children, dogs, or other animals. They should be adopted together or have another friendly cat in the home. The adoption fee for each kitten is $250. Thank you for being so interested in adopting from Scruffy Paws Animal Rescue! If you see this post, we still accept applications for this cat(s)/kitten(s). Please refrain from emailing us regarding availability. All adoption fees include spay/neuter surgery, microchip, rabies, and distemper vaccinations, proof of FIV/feline leukemia testing, flea treatment, deworming, and an exam by a licensed veterinarian. Our shelter hours are by appointment only and are not open to the public. Many of our cats and kittens are located in foster homes. An adoption application MUST be submitted and approved before meeting our cats/kittens. We do this for the safety of our fosters and potential adopters. Our adoption process includes the following: 1. Adoption Application To be considered for this cat(s) or kitten(s), you MUST complete an adoption application: - Through our website (preferred) at www.scruffypawsanimalrescue.org/ - Email a copy to [email protected] - Drop off a hard copy to either of our partner PetSmart locations (Johnston or North Smithfield) - Mail a hard copy to Scruffy Paws Animal Rescue at 2944 Post Rd. Warwick, RI 02886 2. Veterinary Reference Please call your vet beforehand to give permission to release records to our adoption team. Out-of-state adoptions typically require an exceptional veterinary reference and are at the discretion of our adoption team. 3. Proof of Home Ownership OR Landlord Approval The landlord's contact information must be provided if renting so our adoption team can seek approval. 4. Home Visit Please make sure you are located in our vicinity. We are based out of Warwick, RI. Due to COVID-19, we are currently doing virtual home visits until further notice. **Please note: Our volunteers try their hardest to contact every applicant in a timely manner but are often overwhelmed with a high volume of applications. Please allow up to two weeks for a response. Please be considerate and refrain from sending multiple follow-up emails or submitting duplicate applications.
