My Story

Once her paws touched the carpet in her new foster home, she immediately started rolling around and pushing her face into the carpet. It seemed as if she had never felt soft and cushioned surfaces before. She now loves to lay on the bed, on fuzzy blankets, and on her furry window hammock. She loves catnip-filled Woobie toys as well as a track that she pushes a little ball through. She frequently carries soft toys around in her mouth throughout the house. Sometimes she can become a bit overstimulated when she is being petted, resulting in a slight nibble on your hand to let you know she has had enough pets. She tends to prefer chin scratches, her ears rubbed, and deep pressure pets down her back and tail. She incredibly loving and a resilient little girl. She takes some time to learn your routine and become comfortable in her environment. Once she learns that you are a good human, she is ready for all the love and attention. Every day she becomes more comfortable in her environment and shows us new parts of her darling personality….plus the air biscuits are extra fun to watch. CHARACTERISTICS Gentle, Happy, Frisky, Active, Goofy / Crazy / Hilarious / Silly, Fun, Alert, Smart / Clever, Confident, Independent, Good-natured, Friendly, Affectionate, Lovable, Loving, Huggable, Gives Head Bumps, Likes Rubbing, Likes Being Scratched, Sensitive on Touching (Physically), Purrs A Lot / Always Purring, Can be held BUT on only own their terms, Timid, VERY Vocal / Talkative, Particularly Food-motivated, Rules the Roost, Spoiled If I was on a dating app, my pickup line would be: Come tell me everything you love about me while I make you some air biscuits. In a human companion, I’m looking for: Someone who is patient, calm, and senses when I might be feeling a bit overwhelmed. In an animal companion (house-mate), I'm looking for: Likely a home by myself, as I am a queen, however I think with time, I could become used to some kitty housemates. Lots of people say I love to: Make biscuits as I’m walking up to you because I’m so happy to see you or hear you talk to me. I also love to lay in my window hammock and watch the birds in the trees. I prefer not to be picked up for long periods of times or be petted near my belly or lower back. I'm learning to lay on a bed next to a human and I’ve recently started making biscuits on the covers next to my foster mom. Despite my less-than-ideal start in life, I have flourished in FAN's care and am now: Gaining weight and eating lots of yummy food. I really love soft blankets and warm places to lay around the house. I’m learning how to play with toys, and my favorite toy is anything stuffed with catnip. ++++++++++++++++++++ It’s important to set reasonable expectations when bringing any new cat home. We offer the Rule of Threes. 3 DAYS: To decompress 3 WEEKS: To get familiar with your house and its routines 3 MONTHS: To settle in and feel like they’re home Adding a new animal to your household can be a whirlwind of an experience for many owners. There is a lot of change happening for your new cat, so it’s not uncommon for the cat’s behavior to change accordingly. They may be acting in ways you’ve never seen before, and this can be discouraging. These “rules” are estimated marker points where you may see behavioral changes from your new cat. SEE https://www.feralaffairs.org/faq/ to learn how long it may take to acclimate your cat to their new home.
