Melanie

Melanie is a beautiful 9-year-old medium haired tortoiseshell kitty looking for her forever home. She would be content to just chill all day long - her favorite activities are looking out the window and laying in boxes. Melanie can be very sweet and affectionate, but sometimes she likes her space too. Melanie is a playful girl and an excellent jumper. She can jump up to every window in her foster house! She also likes to sit up high, on any shelf she can find. Her area is always very neat and tidy, and she doesn't get into things or make messes. She likes to be pet on her head, between her ears. And she gives the best headbutts! Melanie will need an adopter who can respect her boundaries. While she can be very sweet and affectionate, she doesn't always like to be pet and can become overstimulated. She gives clear warning signs when she wants to be left alone, but she will bite or smack if you don't respect her limits. Before she was rescued, Melanie was left outside when her old family moved away. She is recovering from a severe immune reaction to flea bites when she was outside. She needs to stay on flea preventative in her forever home. Once she is back to 100%, she will need updated vaccines. She has a heart murmur which does not affect her but will need monitoring.
