My Story

This is Melanie! She is a 13 year old female purebred British shorthair cat. She definitely has the adorable characteristic chubby cheeks of a British shorthair. She was surrendered because her owner was elderly and was having some health issues and could no longer take care of her. A little bit about Melanie, she is a cat who will definitely require a quiet/calm home. She is very affectionate and loves to play with toys when she feels comfortable, if she doesn’t feel comfortable she will just hide. She would most likely do best in a home without dogs or young children. She may be able to be in a home with 1 other cat as long as it is also very calm but we will do a meet and greet to see how the 2 cats interact together in a case like that. She does not like people putting their hands right in front of her face and she will smack your hand away, she has never bitten or scratched anyone because of it but it may escalate to that if there are hands in her face a lot. That’s why it is crucial she is in a home with no young children. She is spayed and UTD on all core vaccines and no known health issues. She is currently being fed Purina tender selects hard food and 1 cat of wet food a day. She is not a food vacuum type of cat, so she does not need to be on a feeding schedule. You can always leave a bowl of food out and she will eat what she wants with no problems. She is also 100% litter box trained. Her adoption fee is $50 and she is currently located in a foster home in Silver Lake, MN. Pleasereach out if you may be interested in adopting Melanie!
