Michelle

Michelle is part of the Kitty Keeper program! Michelle transferred to us from Cobb County Animal Services. Michelle has spent the past few months being a bit misunderstood. She lived in a cage at CCAS and really did not like it so she relayed her complaints to the staff there through scratching and hissing with the occasional nip. The Good Mews staff met her during that time and wasn't able to take her on an initial trip, but couldn't stop thinking about that Michelle would do much better outside of that cage. An advocate of CCAS helped our director find a calm foster home that was skilled with difficult kitties and willing to give Michelle time to decompress. That really helped Michelle relax a bit before coming to the shelter and integrating with the other kitties. Michelle really does like humans and other cats, but just can get a bit overstimulated. She will need a family that is experienced at reading cat body language so when she is getting the pets that she craves, know when it's been enough and she's thinking about tell you so. Michelle is food motivated so we think she also would do well in a home that might want to learn clicker training with her to better engage her. She also enjoys being perched high above her "territory" in a cat tree or cubby hole.
