Mugsy Tuxedo BLACK MOUNTAIN, NC

Mugsy, a sweet 16-year-old black and white cat is desperately seeking someone to scratch his chin and offer him the love that his 90-year-old best friend and mother is no longer able to.

Mugsy is a very quiet cat who enjoys his independence but also loves to cuddle when the mood moves him. He has been well cared for and doted on by his Mom since he was rescued as a kitten and would thus likely adjust best to a home with a quieter lifestyle and without children.

He is up-to-date on vaccines, has recently had the senior blood panel checked, is neutered and declawed (front), and is litter box trained.

He loves to sunbathe in the window, either napping or watching the birds and other activities pass him by. In the absence of a warm sunbath, Mugsy enjoys nesting on his Mom’s lap while enjoying a good movie. He shies away from short-term guests, but will warm up to overnight cat-loving visitors. Before it became difficult for his Mom to engage with him, he enjoyed playtime and social interaction with humans and his toys.

Facing her declining health issues, Mugsy’s Mom is particularly anxious to find a new home for him as her extended relatives are either plagued by cat allergies or are already hosting rescued dogs who would not be gracious hosts to Mugsy (or any other animal that they could chase).
