One type of harlequin is a silent character in traditional pantomime, usually masked and dressed in a diamond-patterned costume, much like the joker. The comic book character, Harley Quinn, was the henchwoman for the Joker! Being here at the shelter is no joke, however! I’m Quinn, a black young adult female with a white spot on my chest. My sister Harley and I were brought to the shelter because our person was arrested. We might look and sound “mean” when we hiss, but we only do that when we’re scared. If a person approaches us slowly and calmly and allows us to sniff their hand first, we enjoy being petted. Eventually, we will relax and become more accustomed to this place. Harley and I are sweet, lovable girls who deserve a loving home, and we’d like to stay together. Being uprooted from our home is not fun, but at least we are cared for and safe. We’re counting on someone to add a delightful pair of girls, Quinn and Harley, to their home to be their forever furry friends.
