My Story

Reese is very new to Bordentown City Cats, but, but not new to needing a home and family. In mid-February a shelter volunteer contacted BCC to let them know that a cat, brought in from Bordentown City was at risk of being euthanized. She had come to the shelter, before Christmas, and wasn’t doing well in the shelter environment during her long stay. In response to this call, one of BCC’s amazing foster families, took “Bubblegum” out of the shelter and to a temporary placement in their home. They re-named this light, brown and orange torbie (tortoiseshell/tabby) kitty “Reese” due to her resemblance to peanut butter and fudge ripple ice cream. Reese’s foster parents describe her as being very sweet, talkative, and loves to be pet and hang out with them, but as also having boundaries; she will let you know when playtime and petting time is over! She is a middle aged to senior kitty, with an age estimated anywhere between 6- and 12-years young. Reese is a petite lady, weighing in at 6.5 lbs though her fosters have no doubt that this treat-motivated kitty will put on some weight now that she is in a less stressful situation. Reese is still acclimating to being in a family home setting and is untried with other cats, dogs, or kids. However, her fosters believe that she would do best to be adopted into a quiet home without young kids, who might be unable to understand that Reese desires some personal space and has limits to how much affection she wants to receive. She would be perfect for a working or retired individual or couple seeking company and a lively presence in their home, but not hoping for a “Velcro” kitty, or 24/7 lap cat.
