Rikki Tikki Tavi (Rikki) was a colony cat at a local park that a kind lady and her grandchildren had been feeding. All the colony cats except for Rikki and 4 kittens were feral. All the cats hid in a hole under a tree for shelter during bad weather. This was obviously not a sufficient shelter so we took Rikki and his 4 kitten friends in. Along with not having proper shelter this was a very public area with some people who were not too kind to cats. So we took the 5 in.
Rikki is a mellow 5 year old boy who is so sweet and kind. The lady who had been feeding him for months offered to foster him and was hopeful she could integrate him into her household with her other 2 cats but unfortunately one of her personal cats did not like Rikki. Although Rikki got along fine with her cats. So unfortunately this means Rikki is in need of a furever home.
Rikki does have FIV which means his immune system is a bit lower than normal. Meaning that if he gets sick it may take him a while longer to get better. However, FIV+ cats live long, healthy lives just like any other cat as long as they are well taken care of.
Rikki would do well as an only cat or he would be fine in a multi cat household with non FIV cats as long as proper introductions were done with other cats that are cat friendly. Is there anyone out there who will give this sweetest boy a great furever home?

All of the cats in Kitty Cat Connection's (KCC) care are lovingly cared for in foster homes. This gives us the ability to match adopters with the purrfect cat or kitten. All of our adoptable cats are spayed/neutered, microchipped, given FVRCP and rabies vaccines and combo tested for FIV and Feline Leukemia. KCC is a foster based rescue, we do not have a main facility. We have an adoption venue at PetSmart located at 8970 NW Skyview Ave, Kansas City, MO 64154. There is a small adoption center in the store and we have cats featured daily at the store that you can see in person. Our adoption events are at PetSmart every Saturday afternoon from 1pm to 4:30pm. We occasionally hold Saturday morning adoptions and Sunday adoptions at PetSmart depending on how many volunteers are able to the attend adoption event.
