Hi. My name is River. When I first came to the rescue I was hanging around a local senior center for several weeks when a nice lady spotted me and called the rescue. She said I had a broken leg. I was humanely trapped and taken right to the vet. It was soon noticed that I had a tag, but a collar couldn't be found. When they did find the collar, they realized it was embedded. I had managed to get my one front leg through my collar and up to my arm pit. This predicament made it difficult for me to walk but my leg was not broken. It created a large open wound. This healed long ago now! I was adopted a few months later but returned in 2023. I was frightened and not social for a few weeks. Things just do not seem to be working well for me in my short life, so far. I am hoping this will change soon. I am a calm, affectionate big boy. I am good with other cats and use to be good with dogs, so could be again with time. I am approx. 6 years of age now so I am not a party boy. I am more fond of a quiet, easy life. I would like some one to share that life with. I like pets and lap time. Laying in the sun and purring quietly with a peaceful smile on my face.
