Rosie

We don't know the muffin man, but we know the best biscuit maker around, Rosie! We cannot say enough about this sweet, sweet girl. Rosie needs someone that is home a lot, works from home, or is home at least part time. Rosie is a very special, petite, senior lovebug. She is a social chatterbox that will hold a whole conversation with you. She is responsive, attentive and loving. Do not let her senior status fool you, she loves to play for short periods. She likes to chase the laser, and she will play hunt her humans, then run around like a kitten. Then she tires out and takes her long afternoon naps. Rosie will lay with you on the couch on your legs or sit on a cushy spot close by. We could see her really opening up and becoming more of a lap cat once she feels secure in her new home. She loves to roll around on newspaper and just lay on it. Rosie goes batty cat for catnip toys. She has a favorite catnip banana that will go with her to her new family along with her plush bed and her litter boxes. She needs a smaller family that has older or no kids. She does well with our 12 year old little human that is gentle with her. She will sit with him while he plays. Loud noises like toys, loud voices, and other unexpected noises scare her. She is not a fan of dogs, so a home without doggos is best. She would do great with a mild mannered feline companion. Any feline aggression will scare her and she just runs and hides. She lives peacefully with our kitty and does just fine. They do know each other from seeing each other outside before we brought her inside permanently so there was an adjustment period. Are you looking for a driving companion? Rosie is an excellent co-pilot. She's a little nervous and may talk intermittently for a few minutes then calms for the rest of the ride. She would probably be a great RV travel companion for weekend or short vacation trips. She is pretty agreeable at vet visits but nervous to come out of her carrier. She easily loads into the carrier, wears her collar and a harness with no problem when it is time to go for a ride. Rosie's needs her people/person to commit to: *Taking time to give her the care and attention she needs. She has had it rough in the recent past after being inside her whole life, so she needs a forever home to live out the rest of her years in loving, adored comfort. She does best with a solid daily routine. *Give her exposure to nature in an enclosed kitty backpack or a stroller. She loves her outdoor time in the backpack while her fosters garden or take walks but an enclosed stroller would probably be best for her. *Work with her vet for her dietary needs and monitor her allergies (we are currently working to determine if it's food or other allergy). She must be on a vet quality monthly flea treatment or she gets horrible flea allergy dermatitis. She's currently on the original Revolution. Allergies are easily managed by medication, and an appropriate diet. She currently is eating kibble and doesn't seem to tolerate canned food. She must be fed a high quality diet. Other foods have ingredients that trigger her allergies. Allergy testing at some point would be ideal. *Give her two decent sized litter boxes. She needs one box for #1 and one box for #2. This smart girl will let us know when it needs scooped. *Daily or every other day brushing, then revel in her cuteness while she makes biscuits and purrs the whole time. She loves being brushed and comes running when she hears tapping on the back of the brush. She makes biscuits on our fingers when we brush her and likes to have her paws against our hands like a high five. *Hold her on her back like a baby. She doesn't love being held for long periods but loves a long hug then she wants down. She loves this and will wrap her beans around your fingers while purring away. Unless otherwise noted, they have also had a negative test for FIV and FeLV.
