My Story

*To meet or adopt Scarlett, please visit https://goodhomepetadoptions.org/adopt! We are not able to reply to DMs, emails or inquiries made through 3rd party pet adoption websites. *Read more about Scarlett on Instagram at @goodhome_crownheightsdayspa! *Temperament: sassy girl boss, affectionate, friendly, playful, can be feisty when she's feeling insecure Scarlett's owner surrendered her to us due to severe allergies in the home. When she arrived in foster care with @goodhome_crownheightsdayspa, she had painfully matted fur and was very scared. Now, after receiving loving care and affection, she has blossomed and is ready for a second chance at her forever home! Scarlett will be your sassy, faithful BFF. She'll greet you at the door when you come home and expect that you follow her to her favorite area (the scratching area) where she can tear up cardboard while also receiving face scritches. She is a gal that likes to be in charge. She decides when you can pet her, when she will play, and when she just wants to gaze out the window. Scarlett enjoys being pet around her face, under her chin, and down her back. She loves to rub her face against corners. If you sit on the floor and put your hands out, she will come to them and put her face on your palms asking for pets on her face and then down her body. Sometimes she flops on her side and it appears like she wants to be pet but usually in these scenarios she most likely wants to play, and will playfully swat at hands that approach her. Thus, if she's lying on her side, it's usually best to grab a wand toy or kicker so she can play with that. If you're unsure whether she wants pets, you can put your neutral hands out and wait for her to come to you. Scarlett enjoys playtime. She loves to play with wand toys, springs, the mystery motion toy, tunnels, and she chases rattle balls. She also loves her catnip toys to kick at. Specifically, she has a catnip banana, fish, and pineapple that are her favorites. She also has a cute quirk that when she is catching a wand toy she likes to stand on her hind legs and bat the toy while upright. She looks like a little kangaroo when she does it. Scarlett can be fearful and insecure in new situations, and is still getting used to the idea that humans value her and love her just the way she is. When she's afraid, she can hiss, growl, or lash out. For this reason, we think she'd do best as an only kitty in an adults-only home with a patient & experienced cat person who'll go slowly with her so she won't feel threatened. She might need a week or two to decompress in her new home. Scarlett is unapologetically herself, and she won't be made smaller to make life easier for those around her. Some might think she's being difficult, but we think her unique personality is an inspiration - and utterly lovable.
