Gentle Shaw melts on your lap! He is an even-tempered, low maintenance cat who just wants love. He is shy at first, but adores belly rubs and affection. Shaw was born in late 2018. He is FIV+ (an immunodeficiency virus specific to cats) but has no symptoms. FIV cats are harder to adopt (sadly) so please consider super sweet Shaw! FIV cats can enjoy a great life and can make wonderful companions. FIV is difficult to spread (only through deep bites and NOT via sharing food and other normal interaction). It cannot spread to dogs. Adopting an FIV positive cat can be really rewarding. Although nobody can predict the future, many FIV cats live long, healthy and full lives, just like a non-infected cat. And of course - they need a safe home and lots of love just like every cat! We want to make adopting easy for you! Then we like to do a brief video chat (FaceTime if you have it) so you can show us your new pet's home - where they'll sleep, eat, and play. During our chat, we can also give you tips or answer questions about how to successfully integrate your new family member into your household, especially if you have other pets. Our adoption fee is $150 and covers our costs of spay/neuter, vaccinations, vet exam, and supplies. (Once old enough, all our cats are current on their shots and have been spayed/neutered.) We're a strictly no-kill shelter just for cats. We're cage-free, donation-based, and volunteer-powered. We're small but special and we're glad you found us!
