My Story

Sunshine is a spayed female, longhaired, mainly orange with white cat. She was abandoned in an apartment with Panda. They don't get along and are not a bonded pair. Sunshine was approximately born on 10-10-2019. She was brought to our shelter on 9-25-2023. Sunshine is a laid back cat. She enjoys sitting in the cubby of the cat tree. She doesn't really enjoy playing (but this could change after adoption-- I swear, all the animals pull a 180 after they're adopted). She'll sit in laps for a few minutes and then meh, she's done, and leaves to go sit in the cat tree, lol. There are periods in which Sunshine refuses to eat anything. That's her way of telling us that she's about to have a hairball. We give Cat Lax to her to help her throw up a hairball. Sunshine is not compatible with other cats. We don't know if she likes dogs or not. She's compatible with all adults and kids. Sunshine tested negative for FIV, feline leukemia, and ringworm. She's up-to-date on her vaccinations, has been dewormed, and is up-to-date on flea and tick preventative. She's spayed and microchipped. She's currently eating a mixture of Royal Canin Calm (It has a calming ingredient that helps cats deal with the fact that they have to spend most of their lives in a cage until they're adopted) and Hill's dry hairball food. Sunshine's adoption fee is $100.00 and we accept cash or check. If you're currently renting, we require a letter from your landlord stating that you may have Sunshine where you live. For more information, please call The Humane Society of Richland-Wilkin Counties at 701-672-1676. Leave a message if there is no answer. The Humane Society of Richland - Wilkin Counties (HSRWC) reserves the right to decline adoption of any animal for any reason if it feels that the home will not be a good match. Please understand that by answering questions and filling out adoption forms does not guarantee the adoption of the pet, nor are you obligated to adopt the pet. We adopt to homes that are the best fit for our animals' needs and not on a first-come/first-serve basis. Please read our shelter policies: https://tinyurl.com/32xtaexa
