My Story

Abram Male - American Bulldog Age 5/6 Good with kids: yes Good with dogs/cats: Not at this time Abram is an American Bulldog that was turned in to the SEAACA shelter as a stray. He was horribly emaciated, had a very bad upper respiratory infection, and he was covered in fleas and ticks and had an intestinal parasite. In general, his condition was just awful. Due to his condition, he was labeled rescue only. We couldn't just let him sit there. We immediately got him to our vet. He got medication for his URI, bloodwork done and a fecal test. In his foster home, he got a bath, washing off about 7 million dead fleas and ticks. It wasn't a surprise when his bloodwork came back that he was anemic. He is fed as much as we can safely feed him, and he has a nice warm place to recover from his URI. He has shown an intense response when seeing other dogs, and the condition of the scarring on his head tells us that he has had a bad experience with another dog at one point. We will only place him in a home with no dogs. He is a dream walker on leash, and only pulls if he sees another dog; however, he takes correction very well. He is the best cuddler and snuggler on the planet and is such a happy, friendly boy.
