Say hello to Athena... and a big marshmallow girl full of BIG LOVE. And hang on to your heartstrings because this sweetheart has survived a past life full of neglect, though you would never know it based on the big smile and tail wags she so easily gives. Athena was initially saved by a private rescuer about a year ago after being forced to live life on a chain with no shelter from the elements. After some TLC and healing, she was adopted by a loving guardian who adored her and gave her a life of love and security. Unfortunately, when he suddenly passed, Athena was taken by someone, tied to a pole, and abandoned at a local vet clinic. Gratefully, Athena then landed with Haven and in the weeks since she joined our dog family, she has spent her time playing with toys, romping in the play yard and enjoying pillow time on her very own twin bed.
Athena loves people, though her prior life meant she did not have the opportunity to build relationships with other dogs or cats, so we are looking for an adult-only home with dog experience and no other pets who will be committed to continuing with foundational training for Athena so that she has all the tools to thrive. We are also looking for a home with fencing because this girl loves to play!
