My Story

If you are seriously interested in an animal, we ask that you first fill out an application, tailsofrescue.org This will be the first step to gaining more information about the animal as well as allow us to know a little bit about you. Introducing Banana, a charming senior male Chihuahua blend, possibly with some terrier in him. At 9 to 10 years old, he may have some health issues that make him special needs, but not entirely. Banana has chronic bilateral grade 4 luxating patella, which affects his kneecaps and gives him a unique gait. This condition likely developed at a young age or was present from birth. While we have decided against surgery, Banana is in good health and doesn't experience any pain. He also has a minor case of cherry eye in his right eye, but his vision is still good. Despite his age, Banana is full of energy and loves to run around the yard, chasing other dogs as if he's much younger. He may be a bit bossy, but he has a heart of gold. Don't be fooled by his age; Banana is a senior dog with plenty of spunk and will make a wonderful companion. He does need some dental work completed, but need to get some money saved up. He is eating kibble fine right now. Most of his adoption is paid by a sponsor. We could not leave him at the shelter. Spayed/Neuiterd, micro chipped, heartworm negative (if of age), dhpp shots, kennel cough vacs., and one year rabies is completed. Adoption fee is $100 We are NOT a first-come-first to adopt a rescue, the best fit for the family and dog is the way we do things. We do out of town adoptions often, but will not ship animals must come to Redding for pick up.
