Baxter (CP)

We took him to the vet to see if he was chipped. He is, but the vet contacted the owner and they declined to claim him. We got him fully tested, got all his vaccinations updated and got him started on Heartguard and Nextguard. He is very sweet, a Lab mix, about 2 years old, 63 lbs, neutered, apparently house trained, very friendly and smart. After two weeks of slow integration, he and my 3 dogs share backyard playtime and get along fabulously. In these two weeks, he is learning to walk gently on leash and is making daily progress; has learned “sit”; and “stop/sit/stay” at intersections on his walkies - he can hold the stay really well but I haven't tested his limits past about 30 seconds. He loves all people and wants to spend time with both his human friends and canine buddies. He deserves a good home with someone to love him and that he can love back. From the short time he's been here, I can tell with absolutely certainty that he will fall in love with any human who will take care of him and love him. He’s a very active dog and at his size, small children might be overwhelmed; and to continue his training, would do really well with an experienced dog owner. As the over population of animals in Texas is at an all time high, this is a way we are trying to help when we don't have room for intake. This application will be sent to the foster. The adoption process will be managed by them. All adoption fees and contracts will be discussed at that time.
