My Story

General Notes | Want to adopt this dog? Please do not email us. Please fill out the Adoption Application ASAP. Personality | Loveable and Cuddly. She loves to be around her people, she is very affectionate and loves attention! Story | Lola was rescued from the euthanasia list in a high kill Texas shelter. She gave birth to 9 puppies while in the shelter. On December 20, they all traveled to Colorado where they were in a loving and active household. Other Dogs | She likes playing with other dogs, but when she gets too excited, she becomes very dominant. The Board and Train program she is entering February 8 will teach her how to behave appropriately with other dogs Cats | Unknown Children | Wonderful Training | Lola will be enrolled in a Board and Train Program with Colorado Correctional Industries. Her program starts 2/8/24 and she will graduate March 7. She is a smart girl and is very food motivated. We are confident once she completes the program she will be a wonderful addition to an active home. In this training program, at the end of 4 weeks, she will be ready to go to her forever home knowing the basics - sit, stay, place and good leash manners. Her new family will be able to attend her "Go Home Class" to learn everything she learned in her 4 week training program. Other benefits of this trainintg program for Lola's adopter are: 1) You can attend free refresher classes every 1- 2 weeks with Lola since she is a graduate, AND 2) She can be boarded with a reservation whenever you head out of town. Ask your adoption coordinator for more details. Leash | As of today, February 1, she is awful on a leash. She has a high degree of leash reactivity with other dogs. As mentioned above, we are confident the Board and Train program she will begin on February 8 will benefit her greatly and she will learn how to confidently and safely walk on a leash. More to come! Activity Level | High energy! Loves to walk, run and play! Health Note Very healthy! Thank you! | Adoption Donations | Our adoption donations are $425 for dogs 8 weeks to 1 year, $375 for 1-6 years, $325 for dogs 7-10 years, and $175 for 11+ years of age. Purebred dogs regardless of age are $475. These minimum donations help to defer the costs of initial vet care, food, and supplies while in foster care that currently average over $700 per dog). Meeting Dogs | Foster dogs may have meet & greets by appointment to approved applicants only. To become an approved applicant - please complete the application process. Please know | Available dogs are updated as soon as possible and we do our best to keep it up-to-date, but occasionally dogs shown may become unavailable without notice due to a pending adoption. We encourage you to put in an application even if you don't see your new family member currently, as once you are approved, we can place you on the waiting list for first priority on the selection of the dogs we do bring in. That means you can often meet a dog upon transport arrival and adopt before they even make it to this page! We can not guarantee that a dog you wish to adopt is available by the time your adoption application is submitted, processed, and approved. Your application is good for 90 days from the time of approval for any dog as long as it is a good fit for your family and your lifestyle.
