We will begin processing your application the following day.
Once you are approved for adoption, we will have Bessie's foster provider contact you to arrange an in-person meet and greet at CCHS.

Meet Bessie! She is the happiest dog with a heartbreaking story to share. Bessie was relinquished to CCHS in December of 2023. Sadly, during her owner's separation she had been left behind in a bathroom without food or water. Upon arrival, Bessie was severely underweight, at less than 25 lbs, and had uncomfortable pressure sores in multiple areas along her body. With the care and support of our staff and her foster provider, Bessie made a remarkable recovery and has become a cherished member of our CCHS family.
During her visits for check-ups, Bessie enjoys spending time with our medical team in the lab and greets everyone who stops by to say hello to her enthusiastically. Bessie's favorite toy is a stuffed armadillo that she proudly shows off to her friends. She is friendly to everyone she meets and exemplifies the resilience of shelter dogs. Bessie loves lounging in her cozy bed, solving food puzzles, and, of course, receiving affection and praise from her human companions.
After reaching a healthy weight and undergoing essential dental care, Bessie is now ready for adoption. We hope to find a loving home for this special dog where she can receive the unconditional love she deserves.
