Blinky, 2 year old, neutered male, Catahoula mix, 51 pounds. Blinky is in a foster home in Houston, TEXAS and can transport out of state once an approved adopter is lined up!
Blink and you might miss him! This boy is energetic and high energy, enjoying nothing more than playing with 2- and 4-legged friends. Blinky is in a foster home with three resident dog brothers (40-90lbs) and does well, although he can be demanding of attention. He's very social and enjoys being the life of the party!
Blinky is very kid friendly and has been around children ages 6-12. We generally recommend homes with kids 10 years or older, or those who can understand and respect animal behavior cues. Blinky can be a jumper so normal caution should be exerted to ensure he doesn't accidentally knock over a child.
Blinky has been in a home with cats and ignores them.
Blinky is leash, crate, and house trained with great success. He is very curious on a leash and likes greeting other dogs. He has not been left loose while unsupervised as of yet but has proven to be non-destructive thus far. Blinky does best in a kennel when riding in the car.
While he wants all of the attention, Blinky is happy to share his food, toys, and treats with his foster brother and has shown no issues guarding resources. Blinky eats his meals loose with the resident dogs but it's always a good idea when introducing a new pet to feed in the crate to ensure healthy boundaries and to reinforce a positive connection with the crate.
Blinky will settle down when told and does mind well, so a moderately active family would be his ideal. He would enjoy having a canine sibling but could also thrive being the only apple of your eye. He is quite cuddly and loves to receive affection. He is outgoing and friendly, and has not shied away from meeting new people or new experiences. He tends to match energy of the other dogs in the home.
