Bluey

Hi, I'm Bluey! I'm a 9 year old blue heeler mix with the right amount of playful energy and couch potato vibe. Some nice people found me wandering along a busy street and brought me in to Take Paws so I can find a cozy home to call my own. I love meeting new people and getting out for walks so I can show off my leash skills. I would love to be in a home with kids, but my herding instinct might kick in with the young ones. I am dog friendly, although my cattle dog personality and old man self means that I will let them know who is in charge. Cats don't bother me and I'm fine to let them do their own thing. Bring me to a coffee shop or a brewery and I’ll happily sit at your feet until we’re ready to go back home for couch cuddles. I am up to date on all my shots, heartworm negative, and am neutered. All known details about our animals are posted on their profile and updated daily. Other info would be discussed in detail with the foster during the application review process. Due to the number of introductions/questions received (hundreds daily) we ask you submit an application on our website (that application can be used for any dog with Take Paws Rescue). The adoption fee for adult dogs covers age appropriate vaccinations, microchip, spay/neuter if not yet performed, heartworm test & appropriate heartworm treatment by the rescue's vet. All dogs in our care are also kept up-to-date on HW/Flea Prevention. Labels are necessary for postings to many animal networking sites, such as Pet Finder, and are no way a guarantee. Additionally, exact age and potential size cannot be guaranteed. *Take Paws Rescue saves dogs from high-kill shelters in Southeast Louisiana, owner surrenders, and discarded dogs with uncertain futures. All of our puppies live in foster homes where they are socialized, and well cared for. An application will be required to make sure it’s the perfect match!
