Bode

Bode is a stunning male German Shepherd with a beautiful liver sable coat color. Bode was a stray found with an embedded collar and we do not know his history prior to arrival at the shelter. Despite his current condition pointing towards less than stellar care Bode is still a fun-loving boy who is looking forward to a fur-ever home. Bode is a big puppy at heart and has the energy and antics to match it. Bode is extremely friendly and social but a bit on the rowdy side wanting to jump on new people and make sure they know how much he loves them. He is definitely going to need guidance and an outlet for all that energy. Once he calms down Bode enjoys butt scratches and being an oversized lap dog. Bode is not a fan of his crate however he does not seem to be house trained either. He is quickly adjusting to both though and seems to be a fan of the indoor life. Bode has done well with the kids he has met however he is such a big, bouncy thing we would recommend children 12+ years of age who are comfortable with large dogs. Bode loves the other dogs but doesn't really have social manners just yet. He is on the rougher side of play styles wanting to jump, paw, and romp with every dog he meets. He has done well respecting the boundaries of the dogs that don't want to play with him though and is navigating playgroups well. Bode would love to be in a home with other young, active dogs. Bode has had a single cat test and did okay - he came in with a lot of energy and seemed like he might want to chase the cats. However, after getting bopped by a cat he decided avoiding them might be the safer route. He would definitely need supervision and training but has the potential to adjust to living with cats. Bode has NOT been tested with small dogs at this time. Bode is a big love who is looking for an active and patient home to give him the guidance and love he needs.
