Buddy

Buddy is a 1 to a 1 1/2 year old Border Collie. He was found as a stray running in the woods locally. Nobody came to claim him, and an owner was never found. We believe he was kenneled before being found because he does do some pacing. This will stop as he continues to get a daily outlet for his energy. Buddy is high energy and he is going to need an active home. He is good with other dogs, but is big and goofy when trying to play. If there are other dogs in the home, they will need to be able to handle a young male dog or be willing to play with him. He does take corrections from other dogs well. Buddy is built extremely well and moves beautifully. He is a powerful dog with lots of speed who can turn on a dime. He does show some classic border collie herding tendencies, but has not been tested on stock. He does like treats and toys. He is a tall border collie, probably 23 inches at the withers, but not a heavy boned dog. He currently weighs 47 lbs but should be 50 or so. Due to his energy level and exercise needs, a home with a fenced yard will be best. This is a dog that needs someone that’s willing to dedicate time daily to exercise his mind and his body. He has a great temperament and a silly, funny, sweet personality. He does want to please, and can be a bit of a nudge He will blossom into a very nice dog with some training.
