Imagine being abandoned, all alone, searching for food, dodging cars, then found and taken to a shelter. Imagine the fear this puppy felt and how he must go into fight or flight mode to survive. This is Butters story. Abandoned, neglected, left to fend for himself.
Butters is a 14-15 week old hound mix. He had a hard adjustment to normal dog life so he is being fostered by one of our trainers. She is making excellent progress with him. Teaching him some rules and boundaries and that life doesn’t have to be so scary and he doesn’t have to “fight” anymore to survive. He no longer needs to guard his food or react to dogs in passing as he is now safe.
Butters is a pup but heading into his pre-teen puppy stage. He needs to have rules and boundaries, as does any puppy. He is working on house and crate training, he LOVES to be outside so a fenced yard is a must, and he also loves to cuddle. He has learned not to jump on people, how to properly react to other dogs on leashes and that they are not a threat.
Butters is going to be an amazing companion and would probably enjoy being the only dog in the home but that’s not a must, as long as we know all get along.
Our trainer will continue to work with him until adopted and also show you his routine and how to continue to guide him to be the best boy.
