**Currently being fostered in Damascus MD**
Charlie is a total sweetheart who will make an incredible pet. He is a pretty big boy at 40lbs and 5 months old. Charlie took a few days to warm up and get comfortable with his foster family but in a short period of time has shown that he will trust and love the people in his life. He’s incredibly loyal and wants to be a part of things going on in the house and be with his people. He loves playing with other dogs and leaps and bounds while happily playing with the other pups in his foster house. Charlie enjoys his outside time, running around the yard and would do well in a home with a fenced in yard to allow Charlie to safely explore and play. Charlie loves to go for walks and is excellent on the leash, often staying right beside the person walking him, but will sometimes walk behind and bump on your heels if you're going to slow for him! He’s playful and energetic and can play a little rough at times, but also very content to chill out in his bed and join the family in a movie night. He’s doing well with crate training and can make it through the night without needing to go out or having an accident. He is also doing well with verbal correction when needing to settle down and redirects his energy to chew toys. Charlie has been great with older kids, but fast movements do make him nervous, so a home with young children may not be the best fit. Charlie is very observant of everything that is going on around him and seems to be a pretty intelligent boy.
Due to the puppy's young age, adopter of this puppy will be required to sign a contract legally obligating you to have the animal altered and include a spay/neuter fee at the time of adoption for a future spay/neuter paid for by FCAR with one of our affiliated veterinarians.
They are up-to-date on age appropriate vaccines and preventatives. The adopter will need to arrange for the puppy's spayed/neutered surgery for when the puppy turns 6 months of age, and the cost of the procedure is included in the spay/neuter fee collected at the time of adoption.
