My Story

Chip is a sweet, 8lb senior tan Chihuahua who is shy. After finding himself as a stray at the Humane Society of Yuma, he was very shutdown, fearful and scared. He often coward in corners and did not interact with others. A loving family accepted him into their home as a foster and he has greatly improved. Chip will need a quiet home with a structured routine, a secured yard and a confident fur friend to help show him the way. Chip does well with other small dogs and follows their lead. As a senior, he doesn't ask for much - just a soft bed, soft food and a safe home. This handsome boy is housebroken and crate trained. He is still learning to accept cuddles and love so his forever family will need to have patience and go slow until he feels comfortable. He does not like to be on a leash and will need a yard to keep him safe for exercise and potty time. Chip now allows his foster family to pick him up slowly and give him kisses. He doesn't mind short bouts of love, but is not fond of long love sessions. He prefers to find a comfy spot on the end of the couch with you. Chip loves any soft bed and blanket. He likes to cuddle up with fur friends for naps. Chip recently had a dental done and only has 8 teeth left so he will need softer foods and treats. He is a good eater and gets excited for meal time. This sweet boy will need a family who is looking to provide a sweet senior a loving home that will keep him safe and let him know he is loved.
