Meet Cooper in CT - Affectionate & Playful!

Cooper is a handsome white and golden guy who looks like he’s smiling all the time! It’s a breeze to groom his long, soft coat, as he loves a good spa day of getting brushed, massaged, and having his nails trimmed! Grooming is really just another way of receiving rubs and love! This shy pup prefers to hang back when meeting new people, but once he’s feeling comfy, he loves to be with his humans and soaks up all the belly rubs he can get! He adores getting pets and sweet kisses between the eyes. Barking isn’t really a thing with Cooper. - He’d rather spend his time being bouncy and silly, playing with his toys, and then burying them to play with later! Cooper knows basic commands, including “sit,” “down,” and “come,” and is working on his leash walking skills. A quiet neighborhood would be ideal, as cars zooming by while out on a walk can be slightly scary for this young boy right now. Cars aren’t all bad though - going for rides are awesome! He loves playing with his canine foster siblings and needs a home with another dog to romp around with. Cats are also fun furry friends, as he currently plays with the resident indoor/outdoor kitty. Are you ready for the sweetest way to wake up in the morning?! - because when Cooper hears an alarm, he loves to help out and nudge his humans awake. Rewards are welcome, and he will happily accept apples, pears, or a spoonful of yogurt for his job well done! He’s a sweet and gentle Pyr-mix pup looking for his furever home with humans who have big-dog experience, and a fenced-in yard where he can be his fun-loving self. Due to the high level of interest we can't respond to emails unless an application has been submitted.

Our goal is to assess every application on its own merits. Key considerations are: 1) the experience of the applicant with large breed dogs 2) children in the household or regularly visiting the household are ready for a large-breed dog who is a guardian by nature (www.nationalpyr.org/know-the-breed) and 3) the sex of other dogs currently residing in the household to avoid same-sex aggression issues. For puppies under six months old, the applicant’s ability to socialize the puppy with older dogs is a priority.
