Meet Dale
Dealing with environmental stress made it hard for him to settle down. But I knew he be okay so I took the chance and I could not be more pleased. Since his arrival, he has integrated quickly into the sanctuary pack. He is 1 of 45 dogs at any given time. He gets along well with all dogs big and small, has been through basic obedience training and oh his potential is unlimited. Dale is smart, and he's eager to please. A bit bull-headed yes and very stubborn but in the end he is still a dog willing to please his people. Dale rides excellently in the car, he meets people well, and dogs too. He's been around cats and while curious he does not bother them. Smart dog!
He's also been around rabbits, our bird flock, and turtles with 0 issues
Dale is a great dog whose life started hard. But he was loved just not enough to keep him and since his breeder shut down coming to us was his only option.
I'm happy to share he is an amazing dog. He does have some anxiety issues which have improved tremendously. He has a history of it as well as causing an upset tummy and struggling to gain and maintain weight. Since in our care, he's gained 20-plus pounds and still going strong. Another reason he needed out of the shelter.
There is no denying Dale is a wolf dog and does require accommodation to maintain his housing/ownership. You must check with your city county ordinance/regulation, and animal control. We also require you to be knowledgeable of the law, ordinance, and their required care. We require continued training as well. Proof will be required to maintain compliance with ownership /adoption.
Suggested Donation Adoption fee minimum $600
Dale is house and crate trained, current to date on all appropriate core vaccines including lepto & corona, 1 or 3-year rabies, dewormed, fecal tested negative, microchipped including free registration for life, spay/neutered, heartworm & lyme diseases tested negative upon adoption, and on monthly heartworm flea/tick prevention.
Out-of-state adopters are welcome at the adopter's expense. We do NOT ship and meet and greet are required before adoption unless you are a previous adopter.
Previous adopters of AHRs have the first choice and are not expected to pay another adoption fee again. Donation of their choice is welcomed.
Training is an ongoing process that needs to be worked on daily. New issues and opportunities arise daily that have to be addressed and or rewarded. Continued training is a must.
Adoption process information and adoption application can be found on our website animalhousesanctuary.org

Suggested Donation Adoption Fee of $600 to help cover some of all of the above-mentioned and everyday needs/care.
