My Story

Old Dogs New Digs is assisting with networking to find Dexter a new home. He is being fostered near Ellsworth Dexter is a nearly 15 year old, 16# JRT mix who loves his person and wants to be near you at all times, even touching you. He will be your protector. He has a bit of little dog syndrome with the some other dogs, but has been doing well with the bigger dogs and cats in his foster home. Dexter has a seizure disorder which is well controlled with 2 medications. For his age, he gets around very well, a little stiffness is all. He has cataracts and sometimes his eyes get goopy. He does not like you to clean this eyes will nip when you do. That is the only time he becomes reactive to you though. Dexters ideal home would be with someone who is home most of the time & who understands the terrier personality. He will express his displeasure at being alone with a pitiful whine. He’d do well with a bigger dog & has lived with and likes cats. He seems to challenge mainly smaller male dogs. He has not lived with children so we recommend he go to an adult home. Dexter is fully house trained but may mark. He loves walking & hiking. He’s great in the car. If you’d like a dog that will stay by your side and would like to be Dexters #1, please submit and application to adopt here: https://www.olddogsnewdigs.com/adoption-survey/
