Diesel is a sweet 2 year old American staffordshire. He was seized from his home after discovering his owner had become severely neglectful. He has been raised around other dogs and kids but spent the last year of his life predominantly in a kennel. He is a lover and gentle in nature and will need continued training as he heals.
He is being fostered in a home with another small dog. They get along fine but toys and food have to be kept separate as Diesel works through some resource guarding that he developed as a result of his neglect. We are seeing improvement already and expect with time and training he will overcome these habits.
He is house trained and crate trained. Typical of the breed, he loves people and snuggles. He’s a big gentle lover. As he puts on weight and is feeling more like himself his playful, goofy side is coming out. He loves playing and outdoor time and would love a home where he gets lots of attention and exercise.
He is up to date on his vaccinations and will be neutered before he is adopted out.
He would do best is an active home and will benefit from consistency and training. Due to his size and lack of formal training we recommend a home with older children only. He has not been tested with cats or small animals.
