My Story

******Please note, once completing the initial screen you will be connected with the placement for a video chat. Transports run every few weeks and we will have the dog on the next available transport once approved. If you are not able to accept a dog until a specific time period, please apply at that time************ We are a volunteer run rescue and donate our time to these dogs. IF you are not serious about moving forward in our adoption process, please do not apply. If someone other than yourself is part of the decision making process, please make sure you have spoken with them and they are on board. We really do not want to waste anyone's time if you are not serious about adopting this dog. MEET FAYE Faye is a 2 yr old spayed female. She's currently in a foster home in Houston, TX and can be transported to an approved adopter. When it comes to her breed, we're honestly not sure what she is! She has the coloring of a collie, and the short coat of a terrier! Perhaps she's a Texas Bat Eared Terrier (we hear it's the new Maltipoo)? Perhaps she's a long lost cousin of the dog in the Target commercials? Either way, we know that Faye is one of a kind and a 100% good girl! Initially, Faye can be a bit unsure as you get to know her and can take some time to warm up. She's very gentle and generally loves to observe other dogs or what's going on. She's gotten more comfortable getting on the furniture but she's perfectly happy chilling in her crate on her own. She's started to give cute tippy tappy feet during meal time and jumping for joy! Meals are the way to this girl's heart! We suggest bringing a pup cup to her adoption! In the home, Faye likes to chill and relax. She is crate trained and enjoys being in there on her own with her humans in sight. The crate is her safe space as she warms up to her home. She's generally lower energy so caring for her is generally a breeze. Faye is crated while left alone as sometimes she can be a nervous chewer. She doesn't mind going in at all. She has had a few accidents in the home but the crate has proven useful in her training. She does well on leash, but some loud noises can sometimes still spook her. Walks have been boosting her confidence. Because she's lower energy, she doesn't need a lot of activity. We recommend just a walk or two a day and perhaps some light play. She also does great in a car and on stairs! Faye is very tolerant with other dogs and generally likes to observe play. We believe another dog in the home would be beneficial to Faye to help he build her confidence. She mostly likes to follow other dogs around or engage in some low key play. She's met and done well with dogs as small as chihuahuas to dogs as large as 50 lbs. Faye does well sharing food and toys. She's also done well with cats and tends to be disinterested in them. We believe Faye would do well in a home with older children who are more calm due to her more timid nature. She has been in a home with a 10 yr old and did great with the child. An ideal home for Faye would be a calmer environment and patient paw-rents who will give her time to adjust to her new surroundings. She loves ear scratches and belly rubs; it will just take some time until she may be comfortable enough to accept them. She would benefit from another dog in the home with similar energy that could show her the ropes. She's very easy going and loveable! ***Listed BREED and AGE - We are taking our best guess & recommendations from our veterinarian on age, breed and size when fully grown. We rarely know a dog's exact age nor are we able to tell the true or full breed mix of dogs as our information is limited most of the time. *** Interested in applying to adopt her?
