Francesca
Adopted
Breed
Australian Cattle Dog / Blue Heeler & German Shepherd Dog Mix
This smart girl was saved alongside her 2 puppies from a high kill NC shelter on the day they were scheduled to be euthanized, solely due to lack of space.
Francesca is just a puppy herself at about 1 year old and apx 45 lbs but will continue to put weight on.
Since in foster, she has been able to relax and learn that her next meal is coming. Her favorite things to do aside from eat are to play with her jolly ball or go for an adventure. She is an absolute lady on the leash, housebroken, and crate trained. She does have a high prey drive so likely would not be good in a home with cats.
When Francesca first arrived in foster, she was protective over her puppies but as they are weaned, she is ready to find her own home, likely in a house without very young children.
Francesca has been mostly good with her interactions with other dogs but has acted very protective over her 2 puppies, who are no longer nursing. Based on that, we think she *may* do best as the only pet in a home but if you have other dogs in the home, a meet-and-greet would definitely be needed.
This girl's ideal home would be with someone patient while she adjusts to the good life of being in a loving home for the first time in her life. She is the kind of dog who will return your love and loyalty tenfold!
