Frankie is a wonderful boy, who loves children and everyone he meets. He is great with other dogs and has an appreciation for his new found freedom outside of a shelter. He came to us a stray from Arkansas and is looking to find his forever home. He gets along with other dogs. Frankie did test positive for heartworm and will be receiving treatment at our local vet, Spay Illinois. Spay Illinois has had a very good success rate in treating heartworm in dogs. Heartworm is not contagious so it can be be spread to other household dogs. He will need a comfy spot to rest while he receives his treatment.
She/He is currently located in Chicago's southwest suburbs and can be seen by appointment once an adoption application is completed and approved by the rescue. We cannot hold our dogs for any reason. Unless the dog or puppy is fully vetted we will only consider applications that are within 1 hour or 40 miles of Lemont, IL. This is due to the required vetting at our partner veterinarians. If the dog or puppy is fully vetted we will adoptions out of state or outside of our 1 hour or 40 mile restriction. Please do not apply unless you are ready to meet and welcome a new companion into the home within five days of approval.
