My Story
Meet Hazel, a 4.5-year-old liver-spotted female Dalmatian with a heart as unique as her coat. This charming girl, who is deaf, has mastered a few hand signals like "come" and "sit," making communication a breeze. Hazel is unfazed by loud noises, peacefully sleeping through storms, fireworks, and doorbells. Hazel, located in Cherry Hill, NJ, is open to traveling to find her perfect forever family.
House-trained and crate-trained, Hazel is a model canine companion. She thrives with daily walks that help ease her occasional anxious tendencies. During the day, she's the epitome of chill, content to follow you around and snuggle up on the couch. Hazel is a lover of attention, seeking cuddles and affection from her human family.
Hazel has shown signs of aggression around small children, prompting a search for a home for her where she can thrive without that stress. She has been around older children and does well when they understand her need for space and gentle interactions.
Hazel tends to be possessive in a household with other pets, especially guarding her cherished spots and food bowl. For her optimal happiness, she would do best as the only pet in a loving home. Hazel is friendly with visitors, showcasing her sweet and sociable nature.
Currently on anxiety medication, Hazel's sweet demeanor shines through. We hope that as she settles into her forever home, she can gradually reduce her reliance on medication. Hazel is also receiving treatment for pinnal vasculitis on her ears, possibly linked to a past rabies vaccine. With ongoing care, we anticipate her healing journey.
This loving girl enjoys walks, snuggling, chewing bones, and playing with her favorite "pickle" toy—a bright green oval ball that bounces around, bringing her joy. Hazel is very loving to her "people" and adores snuggling on the couch or bed with them. Hazel would do best with a fenced-in yard, as she loves outdoor activities and walks. She is crate trained, vaccines are up to date, and she is spayed.
Hazel, as a special needs pet, needs a patient and experienced family who can understand and support her unique needs, especially given her deafness, anxiety, and ongoing treatment for pinnal vasculitis. If you're ready to open your heart to this charming Dalmatian, Hazel is eagerly awaiting a loving family willing to provide the patience and care she deserves, whether in Cherry Hill, NJ, or beyond.
