Hazel

Hazel is estimated to be four years old and comes from a hoarding situation. She is very sweet and shows signs of being very smart (learned her name very quickly, learned stairs in a day, figured out how to unbuckle her harness!). But, she is very timid and will require someone patient that is willing to wait and let her get comfortable. She obviously wants to be with people, but runs and hides if you try to return attention. It took her several days to trust her foster family enough to stay in the room with them. She now wags her tail, has zoomies in the morning, gives timid kisses on your legs and feet, but runs and hides if you try to touch her back. She would love a dog friend as she is desperate to play with her foster family’s dog. Her adopter will also need to be patient about re-potty training. She has been trained to potty inside it seems. She was terrified of the outdoors at first and will now come out briefly to check it out, but goes back in to potty on mats in a specific area. This will require a lot of work and patience. She has obviously experienced a lot of trauma and neglect, but is so gentle and full of love. She deserves to find a forever home that will make her feel truly safe with love and patience. Please include a vet reference (including phone number) when applying online. Our application process: FIRST, an application must be approved for adoption from our rescue. SECOND, we determine whether the dog that has been applied for is a "good match" for the household that wants to adopt him/her. We take into consideration the dog's activity level, compatibility with other members of the household (human and other pets), etc. If your application has been approved, but the dog you applied for is no longer available, please take the time and look over our adoptable dogs again.
