Jake and John are 6-year-old Beagle/Bassett brothers. A man bought them when they were puppies and kept them outside in a pen their whole lives. He planned to take them hunting but he never did and then he died. They are bonded with each other and looking for a home where they can stay together.
These guys are excellent with all people and the other dogs. They are happy, sweet and affectionate. They want to be where the people are, eager to make up for lost time. We are working on house training, and they are doing very well and using the doggy door at the rescue.
They could stand to lose a few pounds and are on weight loss plans. John is 40 pounds and is on thyroid meds and Jake is 35 pounds (no meds).
They are neutered, up to date on shots and completely vetted and microchipped.
If you are a loving, responsible, pet person with a fenced yard (we'll check!) and would like more information or if you would like to meet Jake and John, please go to www.beagelsrus.org, read over the Adoption Process and then complete an application. We will be in touch to answer any questions and arrange a meet and greet if you would like. We will contact your vet and do a home visit prior to adoption. Beagles R Us offers a trial run option to ensure that you and your beagles are a good fit for each other for a happily-ever-after life together.
Thank you for choosing to help a homeless hound (or two!)
