Apply here (DOG): https://davincisdream.org/dog-adoption/ Apply here (CAT): https://davincisdream.org/cat-adoption/ ——————————————————————————————————————————————————————— PLEASE REVIEW ALL OF THE INFORMATION BELOW BEFORE CONTACTING US ——————————————————————————————————————————————————————— PRE-ADOPTION INFORMATION ———————————————————————————————————————— At da Vinci's Dream and Animal Rescue, we understand the excitement that comes with the prospect of adopting a furry friend, especially when it involves adorable puppies and their mothers. We occasionally feature puppies that are too young to be placed immediately, and we'd like to provide you with some essential details about our pre-adoption process. Puppies' Age and Placement: Puppies, along with their mothers, are showcased on our platform even before they are ready for adoption. To ensure their well-being, our policy dictates that these puppies will not be available for adoption until they are at least 9 weeks old. The actual adoption date may vary, depending on their successful transition to solid food and their emotional readiness to be separated from their mothers and siblings. Application Approval: Once you find a pre-adoptable puppy that captures your heart, the first step is to submit an adoption application. The application process is crucial in helping us understand your suitability as a potential adopter. Nonrefundable Deposit: Upon approval of your application, we require a nonrefundable deposit of $100 to secure your pre-adopted puppy. This deposit serves two important purposes: Hold for the Adopter: The deposit ensures that the chosen puppy is reserved exclusively for you, providing the time needed for them to reach the appropriate age for adoption. Stop Advertising: It allows us to cease advertising the puppy, as we are committed to focusing on their transition and preparing for their new home. Final Adoption Fee: The $100 deposit will be deducted from the final adoption fee, solidifying your commitment to welcoming your new furry family member. I’M INTERESTED IN THIS DOG/CAT, WHAT DO I DO NEXT? ———————————————————————————————————————— We're excited that you've found a dog or cat you're interested in! To help streamline the adoption process and ensure we have the necessary information about potential adopters, please follow these steps: 1. Understand the Difference: Submitting an inquiry or application on Petfinder is not the same as applying for the dog or cat. Inquiries provide us with minimal information about the potential adopter, making it challenging for us to evaluate suitability. 2. Submit an Application: We kindly ask that you submit an adoption application on our website to be considered for adoption. Please choose the appropriate application link below based on whether you are interested in adopting a dog or cat: ~ Apply here (DOG): https://davincisdream.org/dog-adoption/ ~ Apply here (CAT): https://davincisdream.org/cat-adoption/ 3. Be Patient: Keep in mind that we are a volunteer-based organization, and we receive a high number of inquiries and applications. Due to these constraints, we may not be able to respond to every inquiry individually. However, submitting an application provides us with the necessary information to consider you as a potential adopter. TRANSPORTS —————————— We are based in Columbia, KY, and extend our services to other locations through our transport program. To ensure the safe and responsible transport of our animals, we currently only transport dogs to two specific destinations: Greenwood, IN, and Wilmington, OH. To be eligible for transport, dogs/cats must meet specific criteria: 1. Approved Application: You will need to submit an adoption application for the animal and receive approval. Please also note that clicking the "I'm Interested" button on PetFinder is not an application. To start the adoption process, you need to fill out an application on our website. 2. Deposit Paid: A deposit must be paid as part of the adoption process. 3. Transport Contract Signed: The potential adopter must sign a transport contract, indicating their commitment to meet the dog on the designated date. The 'Transport' label next to each animal's name signifies that this animal is available for transport, but please remember that this transport service is exclusively for dogs that meet the above criteria. This ensures the safety and well-being of the animals throughout the journey. For more information about our transport process, please visit our website here: https://davincisdream.org/transport/ FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS (FAQS) FOR OUR DOG LISTINGS ——————————————————————————————————————————————— Before reaching out to us, please take a moment to review these frequently asked questions. We strive to provide you with all the information you need right here. Please understand that due to the high volume of inquiries, we may not be able to respond to questions covered in this FAQ section. 1. Are your dogs potty trained? Unless the dog's bio specifically states that they are potty trained, you can assume they are not. Many of our rescue dogs come from challenging circumstances and may not have been exposed to housetraining. Housetraining is typically the responsibility of the adopter. 2. Do you transport to other locations? Currently, we only transport to Wilmington, Ohio, and Greenwood, Indiana. 3. Is this cat/dog still available? If the cat or dog is listed on Petfinder and does not have an "adoption pending" tag on the website, we are still accepting applications. However, please be aware that we often receive multiple applications for each animal. 4. How long does it take to hear back about my application? It can take up to 10 days to receive a response from us. If you do not hear back within this timeframe, please understand that we may have chosen not to move forward with your application. We are a volunteer-based organization and, while we read every application, we may not be able to respond to each one individually. Thank you for your interest in adopting one of our fur babies and for taking the time to review these FAQs. Your support and understanding of our processes are greatly appreciated as we work tirelessly to find loving homes for our rescue animals.
