My Story
Jude, aka Jude the Dude, is a silly, sweet 8 week old lab mix that weighs 9 lbs. He is estimated to be around 50-55 lbs when he is full grown. He is the cool dude of his litter and king of nap time. He sprawls out on his back when he watch to catch a snooze, and flicks his little feet in the air when he dreams. He is a go-with-the-flow kind of pup that enjoys being anywhere his human is and is happy to follow along. He is very affectionate and loves to cuddle. He is a big fan of being picked up and held like a baby, and he will just burrow into your neck and soak up all the snuggles you give him. After snuggles, he is ready to play and will find a toy to toss around in the air and kick with his feet. He is a curious pup that likes to sniff around and explore his surroundings outside, and then when he spots a cool leaf, he will proudly carry it around in his mouth and play keep away from his siblings. His ideal family would be fun, easy going, and loves the outdoors.
Jude is low to medium energy, so he is the perfect mix of laid back and active. He gets sporadic zoomies and has short spurts of puppy energy, but he is easy to wind down after his short exercise sessions. He loves to run around the yard playing with his siblings and the resident dogs in his foster home, and then will find a nice spot to chew on a leaf or stick when he's done. He has started to really enjoy chasing after a tennis ball, but hasn't quite figured out that he has to bring it back to his human yet to continue the game of fetch. Because he is the type of pup that enjoys doing whatever his human wants to do, he would be happy to join you as you explore nature trails on beautiful days, and then just hang out cuddling on the couch on cold, rainy days if that's what you prefer.
Jude is dog, cat and kid friendly. He does well with dogs of all ages and sizes, and is currently in a foster home with dogs ranging in age from puppy to senior. He is submissive when meeting new dogs and allows them to come up to introduce themselves first, then he will do a polite play bow to see if they're interested in playing with him. He would be great for a family that has another dog that he could continue learning from as he grows and he would love to have another doggy friend to play with in his forever home. Although he loves other dogs, he is perfectly fine being a solo dog in the home as long as he gets plenty of time with his human. He is very respectful of the two resident cats' boundaries in his foster home and only interacts with them when he wants to borrow their toys. His easy going and sweet temperament makes him the perfect pup to join a family with kids of all ages. He would love to have some human kids in his forever home to play and cuddle with.
Jude is currently working on mastering his potty training skills and currently uses a potty pad in his foster home, but he has started transitioning outside for potty time. He currently sleeps in a kennel and puppy playpen setup at night, but he would love to sleep with his human once he gets older. He will need help perfecting his leash training once he is in his forever home. His ideal home environment would be a house with a fenced in backyard that he can sit outside to watch the birds and squirrels go by, while also still perfecting his potty training and leash training. He would do well in an apartment, townhouse or condo as long as he has a human home majority of the day to continue working on his potty training and leash training, and can take him out for a few short walks per day as he gets older.
Jude will have a $200 refundable neuter deposit added onto his adoption and transport fees because he is too young to be neutered at this time. He cannot be adopted into Canada at this time because of his age.
If you are interested in adopting Jude, please fill out an application at: https://www.loveandpuppypawsdogrescue.com/adoption-application.
Jude is in a foster home in Central Texas and will be transported once adopted.
TRANSPORT: Currently we have monthly transports. It will be up to the adoptive family to meet the transport to pick up your new family member. Please be advised that our dogs are adopted to their forever families prior to being transported. Unfortunately at this time, we cannot bring dogs for a typical meet and greet situation, due to the extensiveness of the transport distance and it being unfair for the dogs who are not adopted to have to make the trip back.
Please be advised that applications are reviewed in the order that they are received. To ensure we are honoring the dogs that we have committed to helping, we do have policies and procedures in place that we follow when reviewing adoption applications. LAPP Dog Rescue is ran 100% by volunteers, so please be mindful that when you submit an application that it can take a few days to be reviewed. Submitting an application is not a confirmation that the adoption will be approved/completed. Before submitting the application, please read the FULL description on PetFinder describing the dog's personality, energy level, housing requirements and our policy on meet and greets.
The total cost to adopt is $830, which includes a $400 adoption fee, a $230 transport fee, and a $200 REFUNDABLE neuter deposit. The adoption fee includes all age appropriate vaccinations, microchip, flea/tick/heartworm prevention, dewormer, and health certificate from a licensed veterinarian.
