Kevin is 3 years old and weighs approximately 60lbs. He has a very special rescue story. He was brought into our vet to be euthanized by a local shelter due to the fact he had heartworms and the shelter did not have the funds to treat him. But right before they put him down, another vet was walking by and said hang on, let me contact Lab Rescue to see if they will take him. We said yes! He was within moments of death. It is these times in rescue, if you've been doing it long enough, these are the close calls that don't just happen by coincidence, this dog was meant to be here, he was meant to be someone's someone!
Kevin loves his people and craves love and attention. He's housetrained and crate trained, although he doesn't really like the crate. He is a great car rider and hops right in! He walks well on leash but is strong, so a gentle leader or pinch collar is recommended for walks. He seems to need something in his mouth 24/7 be it a tennis ball, kong, rope or chew bone. He's been treated for heartworms and is now clear to play! Kevin has been to a few day training sessions with professional trainers and he's done very well with his obedience training and with playing with other dogs over the past few weeks. He tries hard to please you and would love to have a family that can take his training to the finish line! Kevin will make you a wonderful, faithful, devoted pup!
