My Story
At just 7 months old, Lexie, a Bichon Cavapoo, may be small in stature at 10 lbs, but her personality is larger than life. With her short, pristine white coat, Lexie is a vision of canine charm.
Though still a puppy, Lexie has already shown her intelligence and independence. She adores playtime with her sisters, demonstrating her social nature with other dogs.
While Lexie hasn't had much exposure to other pets or children, her foster family believes she would thrive in a household with dog-savvy kids and possibly even feline companions. However, her past experiences have made her somewhat wary of humans, requiring patience and understanding from her future adopters.
Despite her initial apprehension, Lexie has made strides in trusting humans, eagerly accepting treats and showing curiosity towards the world around her. Her foster family notes her keen sense of smell, particularly when food is involved.
Lexie's transition into her foster home wasn't without its challenges. Initially timid and seeking refuge with her sisters, she has gradually grown more comfortable, showcasing her playful side and love for crinkle toys and squeaky balls.
Like any puppy, Lexie has her preferences and dislikes. She's not a fan of sudden movements or unfamiliar faces approaching her too quickly. However, with a confident canine companion by her side, Lexie's confidence in navigating the world continues to grow.
In terms of energy, Lexie embodies typical puppy exuberance. She delights in frolicking around the house and engaging in play sessions but is equally content to curl up for a nap after her adventures.
While Lexie currently resides in an apartment, her occasional barking and spirited antics might not make her the ideal neighbor for everyone. However, with proper training and guidance, she could adjust to shared living spaces.
Adoption fee includes spay/neuter, heartworm/Lyme test, all age-appropriate vaccinations (distemper, rabies, and Bordetella), heartworm and flea/tick preventatives, and microchip implant (including registration). Adoption fees INCLUDE a mandatory sales tax of 7.525%.
Age and breed are based on veterinarian and intake professional’s recommendation and not guaranteed as a rescue animal’s history is often unknown.
Due to post-adoption services provided, we prefer to adopt within a 90-mile radius of Minneapolis; however, we will consider up to 250 miles if the applicant is willing to drive to cities as needed
