Maggie is a 48-pound, 2-year old spayed Husky mix with no reported medical conditions, and is current on vaccinations.  She is crate-trained and house-trained.  Maggie’s owner reports that she is very active, friendly to family and visitors, playful, and independent.  She knows some basic commands, and has a gentle play style with stuffed toys, tug a war, chasing, and playing with other dogs being her favorites.  She gets along well with the other dog in the home, and are good companions to each other. Her family feels lucky to have had Maggie since she was a puppy.  Maggie’s prey drive became stronger as she aged and that has resulted in major conflicts with other animals on the farm.  She initially ignored the cats and goats, but killed multiple chickens.  She became stressed when she could see the barn from her home, and she eventually started to aggressively go after the goats in a high-kill manner.  Maggie then took her frustrations out on the cats.  The family feels they have tried to provide a happy home for Maggie, but the proximity to prey animals is causing her constant stress.  The family has accepted that they are not the right home environment for Maggie and sincerely hope that another family has a better home atmosphere for her.
