COURTESY POST:
This playful yet chill dude is Malibu, in foster for the City of Carpinteria. He came in as a stray, has been vaccinated, neutered and microchipped, and is ready for his forever home!
Mally is a character. He is so smart that he knows how to open lever door handles. Sometimes he acts like a big goofy puppy even though we think he is 4-5 years old. He is very confident and relaxed in the world, so he doesn't have any behavioral issues other than periodically breaking into a random howl that gets my other dogs going (they are forming their own orchestra).
This guy is housebroken, walks well on leash even in groups, and is safe with everything from a 15lb terrier mix on up. He's too prey driven for cats. He has been great with older kids, but might be too rough for toddlers unless well supervised.
Even though he is clearly part Husky he has a short coat, more like a Shepherd, so he doesn't shed as much as Huskies do. Phew!
He will need some basic obedience, especially if you want to take him off leash (Huskies are notorious for going off on adventures if not well trained).
He is available through the City of Carpinteria. Please respond to this post if you are interested in this great boy!
