My Story

Meet Mikey !! Mikey was picked up as a stray by animal control and has spent some time in the pound. He has now been in a foster home for about 8 weeks and is doing great. We discovered that Mikey is a really smart boy. He knows sit, paw/shake, down, rollover & We think speak. He also knows what “kennel up” means. Mikey is a Doberman Mix, Heart worm negative & neutered. He is about 1 years old, up to date on all vaccines including rabies. Mikey is a great boy and will need time to decompress once in his new home. This can take up to 3 months. Mikey does well in a kennel, he will wine a few minutes when you first put him in but will stop. He prefers to be right by your side. Mikey is dog friendly, not sure if he is cat friendly. Mikey is good with kids over 10. The Adoption Fee is $150 We are in Houston Texas, However we are capable of sending our rescue dogs to other areas in Texas and other US states! Travel with a USDA Health Certificate to most US cities is available for an additional $300 fee. (Fees for transporting dogs within Texas can be up to $150) Our dogs over 6 months of age have been vaccinated, dewormed spay/neutered and microchipped! In rare circumstances, a dog may not be spayed/neutered for health reasons. In this case, it will be clearly explained to the adopters and proper care will be understood by adopters. Puppies too young for spay/neuter at the time of adoption will be required to be spay/neutered at 6 months at the adopter's expense. The microchip will be transferred to adopter at this time. The adoption fee for this pet will enable us to finance our program of readying additional dogs, puppies and kittens which we prepare, transport and adopt out in the northern United States. Many of our rescue dogs have high medical expenses. Our goal is to get as many homeless animals as possible out of south Texas, where there is a severe pet overpopulation crisis. We are an animal welfare organization and we do our best to estimate the breed & age based on our experience and research. We do not guarantee the age, breed and/or size expectation of the puppy in our Petfinder ads. Our goal is to save as many pets as possible and find them loving homes.
